    About Optimum Invest

    Optimum Invest SAL was founded in 2004 to provide fixed income brokerage services to institutional clients in Lebanon and the MENA region. In 2012, the firm upgraded its license to a full-fledged financial institution regulated by the Central Bank of Lebanon with USD 5M fully paid-up capital. In 2014, Optimum Invest broadened the firm’s investment activities to include Institutional Sales & Trading,  Asset and Wealth Management services for High-Net Worth Families and Private Investors in addition to Corporate Finance Advisory Services and Institutional Administrative Support Services.

    In June 2020, LIBANK SAL (Levant Investment Bank SAL) proposed to the founders and shareholders of Optimum Invest SAL to acquire 100% of the company’s shares and a definitive agreement was signed for LIBANK SAL to acquire Optimum Invest SAL.


    As now part of the LIBANK Group, Optimum Invest SAL continues to operate under the same management team, business strategy and culture with the wide network of institutional clients it serves.

     

    Based out of Beirut, Optimum Invest SAL is organized as a Lebanese joint stock company and is regulated and supervised by the Central Bank of Lebanon and the Capital Markets Authority of Lebanon. Optimum Invest SAL is listed on the Central Bank of Lebanon’s list of financial institutions under No. 70.

    Shareholders

    In June 2020, LIBANK SAL (Levant Investment Bank SAL) acquired 99.91% of Optimum Invest SAL's outstanding shares, with the remaining shares being reserved exclusively to the Members of the Board of Directors.


    As now part of the LIBANK Group, Optimum Invest SAL continues to operate under the same management team, business strategy and culture with the wide network of institutional clients it serves.

    Reine Abboud

    Chairman of the Board of Directors & Chief Executive Officer


    Reine joined Optimum Invest SAL in 2006 to oversee the Financial, Operation, Human Resources as well as Administrative Departments. She has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector and currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors and CEO of Optimum Invest SAL. She held prominent positions with several leading institutions from different sectors. Reine holds a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon.


    Antoine Kassis

    Executive Board Member - Managing Director


    Antoine joined Optimum Invest at its inception and has over 20 years of capital markets and operations experience with First National Bank and Midclear. He currently serves as an Executive Board Member and Managing Director at Optimum Invest SAL. Antoine holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration from Saint Joseph University, Lebanon. He also obtained an MBA Degree from the joint program of Saint Joseph University, Sorbonne and Dauphine in Paris.

    Corporate Governance

    Optimum Invest SAL abides by the highest standards of corporate governance set forth by the board of directors and in line with local laws and regulatory requirements. The implementation of the corporate governance framework is the responsibility of the management board and senior corporate governance officers while oversight remains within the jurisdiction of the board of directors. 

    The management board recognizes the importance of implementing a sound, transparent and efficient governance framework for the purpose of securing the proper completion of the day-to-day management of corporate affairs. The management board also attaches a high importance to putting in place the needed operational infrastructure allowing a full and flawless oversight from our board of directors. 

    Optimum Invest SAL firmly believes that the backbone of good governance at the company lies in a properly adapted and modern organizational structure that allows for all control and governance functions to operate with total independence from other operational and business functions. 

    Ensuring the independence and objectivity of the risk, compliance, anti-money laundering, internal audit and other control functions allows for the promotion of a strong compliance and ethical culture across the firm and empowers the people responsible and in charge of steering the company into full compliance with laws, regulations and anti-money laundering best practices.
    Control and governance leaders work closely with senior management on the implementation of the firm’s corporate governance framework and work in close cooperation and have direct access to the specialized board committee members and chairmen on all governance related matters. 

    The board of directors forms specialized risk, internal audit and anti-money laundering committees whose chairmen are independent directors to ensure that officers entrusted with governance oversight roles are provided with the appropriate support to fulfill their duties. 

    Specialized board committees in charge of overseeing control and governance activities are mandated with presenting the board of directors with their independent and objective evaluation of corporate governance standards at the firm.
